Emergencies
There are some situations where immediate solutions and/or help is needed. At such times, face- to- face meetings and other forms of health care may be necessary. If any of the conditions below describes your situation, we strongly advise you to speak with someone you trust, explain that you need immediate assistance and get help in-person from a professional in a healthcare facility. Use this site and links only as a referral source to a professional who can see you in-person for evaluation or treatment without delay (See instructions below).
* If you experience a life threatening situation and/or are being abused.
* If you have thoughts of hurting or killing yourself.
* If you have thoughts of hurting or killing another person.
* If you have a recent history of suicidal, violent or abusive behavior.
* If you hold what others may consider unrealistic beliefs (delusions.)
* If you see or hear things that others don't (hallucinations.)
* If you are currently addicted to or are abusing alcohol or drugs.
WHAT TO DO IN AN EMERGENCY: INSTRUCTIONS
If you feel that any of the situations mentioned above describes your current state, you must get assistance immediately. You will find help:
1. In the office of your health care professionals or at a local crisis center.
2. In an emergency room of your local hospital.
3. By calling 911 (in the USA.) and asking for immediate help.
4. By calling a hot line service, such as: 1-800-SUICIDE (in the USA) for immediate assistance and referral instructions.
